How to Play Othello/Reversi

Othello, also known as Reversi, is a two-player strategy game played on an 8x8 board. Each player has 32 discs, which are white on one side and black on the other.

Basic Rules:

  1. Initial Setup: Place two white discs and two black discs in the center of the board, forming a cross.

  2. Turns: Players take turns placing a disc of their color on an empty space on the board.

  3. Capture: When placing a disc, if it encloses one or more of the opponent's discs between two of your own (in a straight line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), the opponent's discs are flipped to show your color.

  4. Objective: The game ends when no more moves are possible. The player with the most discs of their color on the board wins.

Othello is easy to learn but offers great strategic depth, making it an exciting challenge for players of all ages.
